The two buildings are the new Morgan Stanley Clinical Building and the redevelopment of the existing cardiac wing of the hospital.

The Morgan Stanley Clinical Building
Scheduled to open in 2012, the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building will make an important difference to the lives of many patients, families and staff at the hospital.
There will be facilities to support children with heart and lung conditions, children requiring neurosurgery and also children with kidney problems. Importantly, we will have the capacity for up to 20 per cent more children, with more inpatient beds and day case facilities. The redeveloped cardiac wing is scheduled to open in 2016.
Funding for the Mittal Children's Medical Centre
The total cost of the Mittal Children’s Medical Centre is £321 million, of which £75 million is being contributed by the NHS. The remaining amount is being funded through a combination of charitable and private support.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity has raised £126 million to date with £120 million remaining to be fundraised.
We are so grateful to all our supporters who have made this day possible. Thanks to their generosity, we will be able to provide our world class care in more comfortable and appropriate facilities suitable for our very young patients and their families and we will be able to treat more children who badly need our care. We still have some way to go to reach our fundraising target but today gives us a chance to stop and celebrate all that has been achieved so far.
